I had the most incredible thing happen this morning! I got to have breakfast with the sweetest woman. I stopped into old town cafe for some eggs Benedict, when In walked the sweetest elderly woman. I think she was staying at the home just behind the restaurant. She asked to use my phone when the waiter redirected her allowing her to use their phone.
I'm not sure who she called but a moment later she approached me once more and ask me if I could help her get some breakfast, so I invited her to set with me.(to be honest I needed the company) her name was Anna we talked very briefly she didn't say a lot. But when we were finished I Went to pay(I had no issue with this) but the server informed that he had already comped her meal.
Now, while the eggs Benedict was great I am more impressed by the kindness and generosity of this server And how inviting and Attentive the cafe was to Anna and her needs. The world needs more people/places like this! Thanks for a great experience! -

This place has amazing food and amazing service. This was our first stop on our way to Santa Barbara and the people were so nice and pleasant and the food was really great. Good job everyone!!

the last couple times we've been here I feel like the service and food quality is rapidly declining. We decided to give it another try because we were in the area and hungry.. Terrible. Service was slow, forgetful and not super pleasant. Food was greasy mediocre and flavorless. The huevos rancheros were a joke. The Benedict, one of the eggs was cooked almost properly and the one was cooked well over done. The only thing that was actually edible was the French toast.

This is now our third visit and it has been amazing every time! My favorite is the churro waffle with a peach mimosa, however the red velvet pancakes, eggs Benedict entrees, and burritos are awesome too. Friendly service and great food. What a gem!
